Brittany A.L. (interview)

What inspired you to write and how old were you?

“Well, I didn’t know at the time that I liked to write, but I had a love of reading at a very young age. I was a reader first. I was about seven or eight years old and I had a family friend that shared with me her little story that she wrote about the boy group Immature (IMX) back in the 90’s and I fell in love with it. I thought it was the most amazing story I had ever read and from that day on, I wanted to rewrite it and recreate it. Then I wanted to write my own material.

Who were/are your favorite authors?

As a kid I loved R.L Stein and then I read all of my mother’s books (laughter). Eric Jerome Dicky, Bebe Campbell, E.Lynn Harris, Terry McMillian, Omar Tyree, Sapphire, Zane, Stephanie Meyers. . . just a name a few.

Do you remember the first book you ever purchased?

Yes! Sex Chronicles by Zane on my 19th Birthday!

What is your greatest acomplishment relating to your writing?

I just finished my first novel titled V this year (2016) and I’m very proud of it. I am currently working on book number two.

What’s you genre of writing?

At the moment I’m undecided but more towards Urban romance and a little bit of Paranormal romance.

Do you have any rituals that you have to do before or during your writing.

No not really, but my space has to be clean, maybe a glass of wine and some music. I always have to have music on.

Where do you see your self in 5 years?

Writing my 4th best seller.
